PSCT: Low Quality SMID Tech Names Remain Unattractive
I maintain the Hold rating on the Invesco S&P SmallCap Information Tech ETF. Heavy in application software, PSCT's portfolio is notably behind QQQM's on the GARP and quality fronts. PSCT's historical risk metrics, including high downside capture ratio, deep maximum drawdowns, and lackluster risk-adjusted returns, make it a poor choice for the current environment.

PSCT: 40% YTD Gain Driven By Small Cap Semiconductor Stocks
Invesco S&P SmallCap Information Technology ETF (PSCT) has beat XLK by 9% since January 2026, driven mainly by semiconductor stocks. Fundamentally, these gains make sense. Earnings growth acceleration, as measured by industry-level historical and expected growth rates, are huge for semiconductors. However, PSCT's high exposure to slower-growing and slower-accelerating software and services stocks hurts returns and risk-adjusted returns. More efficient choices are XSD and PSI.

PSCT: Directional Growth Improvement For Small-Cap Tech Supports (Rating Upgrade)
This article upgrades the Invesco S&P SmallCap Information Technology ETF from a "sell" to a "hold" due to a positive directional change in earnings growth. This positive change is supported by strong earnings surprises, which were 11.77% last quarter at the portfolio level. PSCT investors should still exercise caution and wait until the 2025 earnings season mostly concludes at the end of February. Disappointing results could lead to a sudden collapse.
