Full-context answers
Get advice alongside your accounts. M1 Advisor sees your investment portfolio, savings, cash, and borrowing on M1, plus any other accounts you connect.
A legal duty to you
M1 Advisor is a fiduciary, held to a legal duty to put your best interest first. Advice is provided by M1 Advisory, an SEC-registered investment adviser.
Advice on demand
Available 24/7, M1 Advisor is there whenever a financial question comes to you, so you don’t have to make decisions alone.
How does M1 Advisor work?
M1 Advisor works from inside M1, the platform that holds your money. A short questionnaire gives it insights about your risk tolerance and investing habits. From there, it reads your actual balances and positions and stays up to date as they change. You can securely connect your 401(k), IRAs, mortgage, and loans, so M1 Advisor can see the whole picture. The more of your balance sheet it can see, the sharper the advice becomes.
- Is M1 Advisor a robo-advisor?
No. M1 Advisor does not sort you into a model portfolio or a risk category. Its guidance comes from your actual numbers and the details you share, and it adjusts when you add context or push back during the conversation. - Can M1 Advisor see across all my accounts at once?
Yes. It reads your M1 accounts together with anything you connect, so it can answer questions about overlap, concentration, and totals across the whole picture. - Can M1 Advisor see my 401(k)?
Yes, once you connect it. M1 Advisor factors outside assets and liabilities into its advice alongside your M1 accounts. - Does M1 Advisor remember what I told it?
Yes. Goals, constraints, and past decisions carry across conversations. You can save, edit, or delete those memories, or turn memory off. - Can it factor in accounts I hold elsewhere?
Yes. M1 Advisor can see any accounts connected via Plaid. It can factor these accounts into the holistic advice it gives you, but it can’t currently advise you on specific holdings inside those accounts.
